Channel Heading
Set up two channels with cones. Do this by making three rows of parrallel cones about 3 yards apart from each other with the cones lining up horizontally also, so there are about 8 segments(pairs of cones) per channel. The middle line of cones is part of both channels. It should look something like this:
o o o o o o o o
> > > > > > >
o o o o o o o o
< < < < < < <
o o o o o o o o
o=cone
the arrows are the direction the players go through the course.
One person has a ball in there hands and the other person is the header. The person with the ball runs backwards to the first set of cones and tosses the ball up for a header. The other player follows one set of cones behind and heads it back, and they continue on to the next set of cones. Then the next group goes. Once each group gets to the end of the channel, the header and the tosser switch and then continue to go down the other channel in the same manner.
Your entire team should be able to do this drill at one time for lots of practice. If they are not able too, or there are a lot of hold ups, add some more cones to accomidate the extra players.
You can vary this drill by doing defensive header(head it more upwards), headers where the players have to jump to head it, or even diving headers.
