Defense vs Offense - Soccer Drills

Defense vs Offense

Divide the team into one defensive team, and one offensive team. It is ok if the offensive team has a few more players on the field than the defense.

You will be using one full size goal set up in the normal place on the endline, and 2 additional smaller goals(cones are ok) set up on each of the ends of the midfield line. The goal should be about 5 yards wide.

The drill is simple. The offensive team shoots on the large goal which is defended by a goalie, and the defensive scores on the two smaller goals. This drill heavily favors the defense, so it is adviseable that the offense has more players then the defense.

The defense should line up with 8 players of defenders and midfielders set up in their normal positions. The offenders should line up with 8-11 players lined up in their usual positions as strikers and midfielders. Any leftover people on the offense can play defense.
